New list of imported composite food products exempt from official checks at EU borders

17/02/2021 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 16 February, the European Commission adopted a Regulation (delegated act) establishing a new list of imported composite food products that will be exempt from official checks at border checkpoints upon entry into the EU in future. This is under the derogations that may apply when the risk to public health is deemed to be minimal. This list concerns certain low-risk, long-life products that do not contain processed meat. It will be applicable from 21 April 2021. This delegated regulation complements the EU Regulation 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council and amends Commission Decision 2007/275/EC containing the list of exempt compound food products.
