17/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued on Wednesday 17 February, the European Commission announced that it has decided to extend the enhanced surveillance of Greece for a further six months as part of the ‘two pack’, the reforms included in the ‘European Semester’ budgetary process. The extension “is a normal and expected procedural step, on which Greece has been consulted”, the Commission said. The surveillance “serves to ensure continued support for the delivery of reform commitments taken by Greece vis-à-vis the Eurogroup in June 2018, following the successful completion of the stability support programme”. The most recent enhanced surveillance report for the Greek programme was adopted in November. (SP)
