17/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 16 February, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service, Peter Stano, condemned the rocket attack on an airbase housing American soldiers on 15 February in Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan). “We encourage cooperation between federal and regional authorities to investigate and hold the perpetrators accountable”, he said on Twitter. In a joint statement on the same day, the foreign ministers from France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States also strongly condemned the attack. They promised that their governments will support the Iraqi government’s investigation into the attack to ensure accountability. “We stand united in saying that attacks on US and Coalition personnel and facilities will not be tolerated”, they warned.
