30/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 30 October, the European Commission announced the funding of 75 research projects for a total of €508 million under the Horizon 2020 programme. These projects, involving 1,158 participants from 58 countries, will mainly develop new treatments and vaccines against cancer, brain-related diseases, infectious and chronic diseases, but also digital diagnostics and care interventions for elderly patients with multiple diseases. Other projects deal with the effects of micro and nanoplastics on health, welfare and health in urban areas or the safety assessment of chemicals without animal testing.
