22/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 22 September the approval, under the CRII and CRII+ initiatives for investment in response to the coronavirus (see EUROPE 12538/5), of an amendment to the Operational Programme for the Mazowieckie region in Poland, allowing EUR 95.9 million to be redirected from Cohesion Policy funds. EUR 56 million in European funds will thus be redirected towards the purchase of medical and protective equipment for more than 75 hospitals in the region. SMEs in Mazovia will also benefit from almost EUR 33.6 million. Finally, EUR 6.3 million will be devoted to improving the conditions for distance learning for pupils and teachers in 236 schools, the institution said in its press release. (PH)
