MEPs and NGOs unhappy with European Parliament vote on Just Transition Fund

The vote in the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) on the Just Transition Fund, and particularly the adoption of the compromise amendment providing the option to fund gas projects, provoked an outcry amongst a number of environmentalist and radical left-wing MEPs and NGOs on Monday 6 July.

MEPs voted in favour of a compromise amendment that introduces an exemption scheme for regions that are heavily dependent on the extraction and exploitation of fossil fuels (coal, lignite, etc.)...
