30/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) reported on Tuesday 30 June that nearly 1,500 entrepreneurs from 44 countries - including all 27 Member States - have applied for the “Crisis Response Initiative”, launched in May by the EIT (see EUROPE 12487/8). The 60 million euros of additional funding announced in this framework has been made available and distributed among the eight EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community (KICs). The most generous shares went to the KIC Food (10.25 million euros) and the KIC Health (9.85 million euros). “Each Community will now finalise its selection processes based on the available budget”, the EIT said, adding that 60% of the funds should be allocated to innovative companies and 40% to innovation projects.
