26/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Management Board of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) decided unanimously on Thursday 25 June to renew the mandate of its current Director, Alexis Goosdeel of Belgium, for a period of 5 years with effect from 1 January 2021 (see EUROPE 12508/36). In a press release, the EMCDDA points out that in 2019, under the leadership of Mr Goosdeel, the Centre achieved its best operational and financial results since its creation and was the subject of a fourth positive external evaluation for the period 2013-2018. The Management Board also welcomed Mr Goosdeel’s management of the Covid-19 crisis. (MF)
