26/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is currently preparing a fifth grouped purchasing for critical care medicines through the Joint Procurement procedure. This was reflected in the minutes of the Health Security Committee meeting held on 12 June. The report, published on Thursday 25 June, indicates that while four procedures have already been launched for personal protective equipment, ventilators and laboratory equipment, a fifth is in preparation for an extended list of intensive care medicines. It also states, regarding talks on investigational therapeutic products, that “the Commission has continued its discussions and reached agreements with several key producers to respond to the requests that have been communicated to it”. However, this commitment does not include access to therapeutic products for storage, the document states. See minutes: https://bit.ly/3ewtQY1 (SPj)
