03/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission approved on Wednesday 3 June a €184 million Czech scheme to support retail and service companies renting premises, whose activities have been restricted or banned due to the measures imposed by the government to deal with the coronavirus. The scheme was authorised under the Temporary Framework for state aid measures adopted by the Commission on 19 March 2020, as amended on 3 April and 8 May 2020. The public aid, which will take the form of direct grants, will cover 50% of the initial rent due for the months of April, May and June 2020, provided that the owner of the premises agrees to a 30% reduction in the initial rent.
