22/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – In a joint message, around 20 leaders of major companies call on Member States, who are meeting on Thursday 23 April to discuss the exit from the COVID-19 pandemic (see other news), to coordinate their efforts at European level. “To get out of the crisis, only European solutions can work, with the single market as the central instrument”, they write. In particular, they call for the rapid implementation of ‘green lanes’ (see EUROPE 12458/5) and the defence of fundamental freedoms for the movement of goods and persons within the internal market.
