22/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – In a statement of interpretation (https://bit.ly/2xS8O5X ) published this Wednesday 22 April on health protection in times of pandemic (Article 11 of the European Social Charter - https://bit.ly/34V26s9 ), the European Committee of Social Rights (https://bit.ly/2RZ6cKo ) approves many measures adopted by States in response to COVID-19, but draws attention to a whole range of social rights other than health, which are also affected by the pandemic: the right to safety and hygiene at work, the rights of children and the elderly, etc. The Committee announced that it will provide guidelines on this matter to States parties to the Social Charter. "The questionnaire for them is already being prepared with this in mind", said Committee’s President Giuseppe Palmisano. (VL)
