22/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Investment Fund (EIF) and the European Commission launched on Wednesday 22 April a new pilot guarantee instrument to support the development of education and skills across the EU. The guarantee pilot project aims to mobilise a total of €200 million and improve access to finance for people and organisations seeking to invest in skills and education. According to Margaritis Schinas, European Vice-Chairman for Promoting the European Way of Life, this pilot project “can provide the necessary support for the development of learning opportunities and skills in some of the most crucial sectors, such as health, education, security, digital and green economy”. It is aimed at learners, businesses and educational institutions during and after the crisis. (SPj)
