Postponement of EU/Western Balkans summit

The Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union announced, on Tuesday 7 April, the postponement of all the informal ministerial meetings scheduled before 15 May in Croatia due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision therefore concerns the informal meetings of Environment Ministers on 21 and 22 April, Economy and Finance Ministers on 24 and 25 April, Employment and Social Affairs Ministers on 27 and 28 April, Energy Ministers on 27 and 28 April and Health Ministers on 29 and 30 April. While more information could be provided by the Presidency in the coming days, a decision has already been taken to replace the informal meeting of energy ministers with a video conference on 28 April on the impact of COVID-19 on the European energy sector. The EU/Western Balkans summit on 6 and 7 May is scheduled to take place in June, or will be organised by videoconference, if the situation so requires, before the end of the Croatian Presidency on 30 June.
