10/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 10 March, Eurojust announced that a Romanian criminal network involved in the theft of goods from lorries on motorways in Romania, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands had been dismantled. In the majority of cases, the stolen goods - laptops, televisions and mobile phones - were sold in Romania. Under the direction of the Romanian authorities, and with the support of Eurojust, Europol and the Spanish, Finnish, Swedish and Dutch authorities, charges were brought against 71 suspects and 73 houses were searched. Eurojust stated that the profits from the thefts totalled approximately €1.6 million. (MF)
