10/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – Arianespace announced on Tuesday March 10 that the European Space Agency (ESA), on behalf of the European Commission (DG Grow), had finalised a pre-order for four new launches using the Ariane 6 rocket. These launches, scheduled for January 2022, will put eight satellites into orbit to complete the constellation of the Galileo European navigation programme and to replace certain satellites. These four launches reserved for the Ariane 62 European launcher will be confirmed once the European Commission has finalised its multiannual financial framework for the period 2021-2027, Arianespace said in a press release. The terms and conditions of this order have already been approved by ESA and the European Commission and a first payment has already been made for this pre-order. (MF)
