10/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 10 March, the EU Council announced that the meeting of trade ministers, scheduled for Thursday 12 March, would be postponed until a later date. Trade ministers were expected to discuss the next WTO Ministerial Conference, scheduled for June 2020, as well as the latest developments in trade relations with China and the United States. The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on supply chains and trade flows had also been added to the ministers' agenda. The Justice and Home Affairs Council on 13 March will be restricted to dealing with Home Affairs issues only and will be held in the morning, two sources said, adding that the Justice agenda had been deemed non-essential at this stage. Ministers are likely to therefore once again discuss the situation on the Greek-Turkish border and the strategic guidelines. (HD and SP)
