22/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the Conference of the Regional Legislative Assemblies of the European Union (CALRE) launched a pilot project on Friday 22 November at the 9th Conference on Subsidiarity in Rome to strengthen the participation of regional parliaments with legislative powers in the European legislative process. In concrete terms, a call for applications will be published and will run until 24 January 2020. The participating regional parliaments will then hold debates between 1 March and mid-May. The results of these debates will then be assessed by the Committee, which will submit a report to the European Commission in advance of the preparation of its work programme for 2021.
