22/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 22 November, the Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) confirmed the list of the 26 Commissioners (all but the President-elect, Ursula von der Leyen) who will make up the 'von der Leyen' Commission. This list will have to be officially validated by the Development Council on Monday 25 November. This is an essential prelude to the European Parliament's vote on Wednesday 27 November to give political approval to the formation of the Commission which, if the vote is carried, will take office on 1 December (see other news and EUROPE 12374/1). The United Kingdom - criticised for not nominating a candidate, although it is still a member of the EU - had yet to formally respond to the Commission's letter of formal notice at the time we were going to press.
