06/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – The coordinators of the political groups of the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture agreed on Tuesday 5 November to prepare Parliament’s resolution condemning US sanctions against certain EU agricultural exports in the context of the Airbus case (see EUROPE 12355/12, 12352/16). If the resolution is voted on by Parliament at the plenary session in Strasbourg at the end of November, MEPs should also call for measures to support EU sectors affected by US sanctions. Several EU agriculture ministers had called for support for farmers affected by tariff increases (see EUROPE 12349/15). However, the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament has yet to decide whether to include this subject on the agenda of the plenary session from 25 to 28 November in Strasbourg. (LC)
