The various political groups in the European Parliament have almost all already appointed their coordinators, ie their spokespersons in the various parliamentary committees. As explained on the European Parliament's website, they are responsible for preparing the decisions to be taken by the committees, in particular those concerning procedure and the appointment of rapporteurs. Coordinators can also mobilise their group members for particularly important votes and appoint shadow rapporteurs. At this stage, the coordinators of the Identity and Democracy (ID) group, who will be appointed at a later date, are not yet known. The list of S&D coordinators is yet to be fully completed.
