Commissioner Oettinger to visit Finland to discuss negotiations on 2021-2027 financial framework

12/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – European Budget Commissioner Günther Oettinger will visit Finland on Monday 15 July to discuss "the roadmap" towards an autumn agreement on the EU's multiannual financial framework (MFF) for the period 2021-2027 (see EUROPE 12292/2). In Helsinki, Mr Oettinger will meet Prime Minister Antti Rinne, Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen and State Secretary Kimmo Tiilikainen at the Ministry of Finance. Mr Oettinger said he was "very glad" that the Finnish Presidency had declared that the conclusion of negotiations on the next MFF was "one of its strategic priorities". The Finns have demonstrated their strong commitment to achieving this goal, commended Mr Oettinger. The Finnish Presidency will detail its strategy on the MFF at the next meeting of the General Affairs Council on 18 July in Brussels. (LC)
