20/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Heads of State or Government of the European Union postponed until the end of 2019 the objective of an agreement on the 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework (MFF) (see EUROPE 12278/5). In the conclusions they adopted on Thursday 20 June, they set themselves the opportunity to meet “in October” to exchange views on this sensitive issue, with the aim of reaching unanimous agreement “before the end of the year”. The Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the second half of the year is responsible for continuing work on the negotiating box when the current Romanian Presidency hands over the reins on 1 July.
