20/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 20 June, the European Commission announced that it was reopening its investigation into imports of ductile cast iron pipes and tubes from India. In doing so, it aims to rectify errors identified in its original investigations into these spheroidal graphite cast iron pipes and tubes. In fact, on 10 April 2019, the General Court of the European Union delivered judgments rescinding two implementing regulations from 2016: one on a definitive countervailing duty and the other on a definitive anti-dumping duty on these imports. The General Court had found that the transport costs used in the Commission’s investigations were lower, distorting the calculation of the average purchase price of iron ore in India and resulting in excessive duties. The product concerned had also been underpriced. To read the notice: https://bit.ly/2Xn6kqZ (HD)
