The EU Council of Ministers has decided not to oppose the adoption of certain delegated acts on the energy labelling of certain household appliances (see EUROPE 12211/11). As a result, unless the European Parliament objects, the Commission may adopt the proposed measure.
A regulation covers refrigeration appliances with a direct sales function (commercial refrigerators). As of March 2021, appliances will have to comply with energy efficiency requirements.
The EU Council also decided not to object to the adoption of a Regulation on ecodesign requirements for welding equipment. According to the regulations, as of 1 January 2023, manufacturers will be required to comply with power source efficiency requirements for welding equipment. From 1 January 2021, manufacturers or importers must make spare parts available for a minimum period of 10 years after the production of the last unit of a welding equipment model.
Finally, the EU Council decided not to oppose the adoption of a regulation concerning low, medium and large power transformers. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
