Brussels, 28/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – While the next interinstitutional negotiations on the 'mobility' part of the legislative package on company law (see EUROPE 12009) will continue on 5 March, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) called for an agreement on Thursday 28 February that is “fair and reasonable”. They urged the European Parliament not to abandon its position on one of the last open points, namely the protection of workers' rights in cross-border operations (see EUROPE 12197). “If the EU is making it easier for companies to be mobile, they must offer protection to the workers’ involved. The right to information and consultation and to maintain board participation rights are frankly the absolute minimum”, stated Peter Scherrer, Deputy General Secretary of the ETUC. (MF)
