European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs approves European Peace Facility

On Wednesday 20 February, MEPs in the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs approved Hilde Vautmans' (ALDE, Belgium) report on the European Peace Facility by 52 votes to 7 with 3 abstentions. 

After 2020, the purpose of this facility is to cover the European Union's operations and external missions in the fields covered by the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP - see EUROPE 12040). The facility is a fund, outside the EU budget, which is expected to reach €10.5 billion...
