20/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – Slovenian President Borut Pahor asked the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, on Wednesday, February 20, to respect the dignity of Slovenians at a bilateral meeting. "We Europeans are in a situation where we must respect each other," he said late Wednesday afternoon after a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. The meeting with Mr Juncker provided an opportunity to reaffirm the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries, to prepare the next summit of the Three-Seas Initiative (Baltic, Adriatic, Black Sea) in June in Ljubljana and to discuss the territorial dispute between Slovenia and Croatia. Mr Juncker considered that Mr Tajani had done well to apologise after his criticisms for their revisionist nature made during a commemoration of the massacres of the foibe (EUROPE 12193, 12192). (MB)
