European Parliamentary committee in near unanimous agreement on GSP implementation report

MEPs meeting in the Committee on International Trade on Tuesday 19 February supported Christofer Fjellner's (EPP, Sweden) draft report on the implementation of the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP), with 36 votes in favour, two against and one abstention. 

The new regulation, implemented in 2014 for 10 years, restricts the coverage of countries benefiting from this system, while moderately extending coverage for products (see EUROPE 12134).
