14/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – In a press release dated Wednesday, 13 February, the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) and the World Shipping Council (WSC) welcomed the Interinstitutional Agreement of 7 February between representatives of the European Parliament and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the establishment of a European Maritime Single Window environment (see EUROPE 12189). The negotiations “resulted in an instrument that will bring real and positive change for shipping companies and crews”, said Martin Dorsman, Secretary General of the ECSA. “The agreement not only harmonises the data that must be reported but also the way that it is to be transmitted”, said John Butler, WSC President.
