Laurent de Sutter and Rosita Allinckx appointed as list leaders for Belgian electoral wing of 'European Spring'

14/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Belgian electoral wing of the “European Spring" - the radical left-wing transnational alliance launched by Greek and former Finance Minister Yánis Varoufákis and Frenchman Benoît Hamon (see EUROPE 12179) - has appointed, on Thursday 14 February, its two top candidates for the May 2019 European elections. Laurent de Sutter, elected to the French-speaking electoral college and Rosita Allinckx, elected to the Dutch-speaking electoral college, will lead a list of seven women and seven men with a "common, green, progressive agenda, its Green New Deal for Europe, which offers a path towards a democratic European Union". The list was initiated by DiEM25 Belgium, in collaboration with Génération.s Bruxelles and LIVRE Portugal. (MF)
