23/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission intends to change the format of the diesel summit to be held on 27 November in Brussels, explained a spokesperson for the institution on Friday 23 November. "Given the overall limited number of confirmations at ministerial level, the Commission has changed the format," she explained. "The meeting on 27 November will be conducted at technical, services level, with a similar agenda," she continued, indicating that the work carried out on the occasion of the summit will serve as a basis for a conference on the automotive sector to be organised by the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the Union. According to the German newspaper Handelsblatt, the Commission took this decision on the grounds that the appeal was missing, in particular the German Minister of Transport, Andreas Scheuer (CSU). The latter claimed that he had not been informed of the summit. (PH)
