23/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The way is clear for the Council to adopt the decision that will enable the EU to have a common position on the implementation in the EU of the International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO) Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) (see EUROPE 12130). The national ambassadors to the EU gave the green light for the adoption of the decision required to respond to an ICAO letter. Only one delegation had a linguistic reservation, meaning they have not been able (yet) to examine their language version, a diplomatic source told EUROPE. The Council decision could be adopted without debate on Thursday 29 November. Time is of the essence, as the response of all Member States to the ICAO letter is expected before1 December. (AN)
