Political declaration on future relations with EU must be further developed with Member States concerned to secure their interests

A seven-page statement on the future of the EU-UK relationship was published on Wednesday evening at the same time as the draft withdrawal agreement (see EUROPE 12136), the ambassadors of the Twenty-Seven began to study it on Friday 16 November in Article 50 format, and they will continue to consider it over the weekend with a further meeting scheduled for Sunday 18 November, the day before a meeting of European Affairs Ministers to discuss the negotiation as a whole.
