16/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – In October, annual inflation was 2.2% for the Eurozone and 2.1% for the European Union, compared to 2.1% in September for both groups, according to data published by the EU's statistical office (Eurostat). The lowest rates were observed in Denmark (0.7%), Portugal (0.8%) and Ireland (1.1%). The highest rates were recorded in Estonia (4.5%), Romania (4.2%) and Hungary (3.9%). Compared to September, inflation fell in eight Member States, remained stable in five others and increased in fourteen. The largest contributors to annual inflation in the Eurozone in October came from energy (+1.02 percentage points), followed by services (+0.65 percentage points), food, alcohol & tobacco (+0.42 percentage points) and industrial goods excluding energy (+0.11 percentage points).
