14/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – No particularly significant progress can be reported at the end of the meeting of Member States' ambassadors to the European Union ('Coreper') on Wednesday 14 November on the mobility package I, according to our information. The ambassadors exchanged on the basis of the latest draft compromises submitted by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, setting out the traditional views of each State (see EUROPE 12135). A further meeting of ambassadors on this subject is planned for next week, with a view to the Transport Council meeting on 3 December, in an attempt to reach a political agreement ('general approach'). The negotiators at the European Parliament met at the same time in Strasbourg, on the margins of the plenary session. It would appear that the discussions have not made any particular progress either. EUROPE will report on these two meetings in its next issue. (LT)
