24/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – MEP Marie-Pierre Vieu (GUE/NGL, France), member of the European Parliament's Transport Committee, expressed her disagreement on Tuesday 23 October with the new draft compromises debated by Parliament negotiators on the social and market aspects of the first ‘mobility’ package on the same day (see EUROPE 12123). “It is only a deviation from the ‘Danish model’ that we supported in July, so diluted and meaningless that it amounts in the end to a pure and simple exclusion of almost all international transport from posting. The TRAN rapporteurs want to pass in force and exclude as many road workers as possible from the rights of posting", she said. As a reminder, this last meeting has still not allowed the negotiators to agree on the main sensitive points, as the rapporteurs are expected to present new written documents next week. (LT)
