24/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – At the meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) on Wednesday 24 October, the Austrian Presidency of the EU Council reported on the progress made at the last interinstitutional meeting with the European Parliament on the Mutual Recognition Regulation, which took place on 18 October last (see EUROPE 12103). Article 4 on the declaration of mutual recognition would always remain one of the discussion points as well as other secondary points (in particular Articles 1, 4, 5, 8 and 10). A series of meetings should be organized at the technical level. On the basis of the technical negotiations, the Austrian Presidency could appear before the ambassadors to amend its negotiating mandate on 7 November. A final interinstitutional meeting is scheduled for 22 November. (PH)
