24/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is calling in a statement on Tuesday 23 October for an improved company law package to strengthen workers' rights to information, consultation and representation on administrative boards. "Democracy does not stop at the doors of companies", said Peter Scherrer, Deputy General Secretary of the ETUC, who recalled that it also improves economic performance. Similarly, the ETUC calls for the strengthening of workers' rights to information, consultation and representation in the draft directive on restructuring and insolvency and urges the European Commission to publish a revision of the European Works Councils (EWC) directive.
