European Parliament calls for release of human rights defender Ahmed Mansoor

On Thursday 4 October, the European Parliament called for the immediate and unconditional release of Emirati human rights defender Ahmed Mansoor and for all the charges against him to be dropped because he is "detained solely for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression".
