Mrs Aiuto pleads for rapid intervention procedures in the event of major-accident hazards on road infrastructures

Daniela Aiuto MEP (EFDD, Italian), in her draft report on the revision of Directive 2008/96/EC on road infrastructure safety management, wants to go further than the European Commission wants in road network safety. 

As a reminder, this draft report is part of the European Commission's proposal of 17 May last, which forms an integral part of the third ‘mobility’ package (see EUROPE 12022). In order to reduce road accidents in the Union, the institution proposes to require Member...
