05/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a press release on Friday 5 October, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) called on the European Commission to clarify and define in detail the relations between human beings and machines in its ethnical directives on artificial intelligence (AI) that the it is preparing for the end of the year (see EUROPE 12009). The EESC says action is absolutely crucial to avoid people being in a subordinate relationship to machines. Moreover, the social partners are concerned about the social polarisation that could be provoked by artificial intelligence between those who have the right skills and those who do not.
