EU invests €5 million to help African customs authorities enforce global rules

05/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 5 October, the European Commission announced it has decided to mobilise €5 million to help the African customs authorities enforce global rules on customs and trade facilitation.  This project is financed by the EU External Investment Plan and aims to strengthen the capacities of African countries so that they use the latest version of the harmonised system (or updated HS).  The HS enables authorities to recognise and classify goods on their...
