Cooperation agreement with FIFA

05/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – Council of Europe secretary general Thorbjørn Jagland and the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, signed a protocol of agreement between their two organisations on Friday 5 October.  From 2019 onwards, they will cooperate to stamp out sexual violence against children and also against the rigging of matches.  The partnership will also aim to improve safety and security at football matches, notably in connection with the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. (VL)
