EUCJ validates Italian regulation on obligation to present certificates of sustainability for bioliquids

In a ruling of Thursday 4 October (Case C-242/17), the judges of the European Union Court of Justice (EUCJ) considered that Italian legislation - making it an obligation for all operators active in the field of bioliquids to present certificates of sustainability - is in line with EU law.

An Italian company owning a printing works and an installation fuelled by bioliquids was recognised as working with renewable energy sources and therefore benefitted from public support from 2012 to 2014. ...
