18/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 18 September, the Council of Ministers of the EU adopted without debate the regulation setting export refunds at zero in the poultry sector for the period “from 19 July to 31 December 2013” (“catch up” regulation). The Commission had adopted the implementation regulation 689/2013 setting the amount of export refunds at zero for the poultry meat sector. With its ruling of 20 September 2017, the Court of Justice of the EU had then declared the text invalid, considering that its adoption was not in line with rules of procedure (see EUROPE 11866). The Court, however, had decided to maintain the effect of the contentious regulation until entry into force of a new act to replace it. (LC)
