18/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – The leaders of the European People's Party (EPP) are meeting in Salzburg on Wednesday 19 September, ahead of an informal meeting of heads of state and government that will focus on the migration challenge, Brexit negotiations and security (see other article). This meeting will be particularly scrutinised due to the participation of Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a week after the European Parliament triggered the Article 7 procedure on respect of the rule of law in Hungary (see EUROPE 12094). If necessary, the membership of Orbán's Fidesz Party is rather to be discussed at the Christian Democrat Congress in Helsinki on 7-8 November. (MB)
