Aarhus Convention – Council calls on Commission to provide options to address lack of public access to justice

The Council of the EU decided on Monday 18 June to give itself until autumn 2019 to determine how to ensure the EU fully complies with the provisions of the Aarhus Convention in order to address the findings of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee that there is a lack of public access to justice in environmental decisions in the EU (see EUROPE 11832).
