MEPs reiterate their hopes of making ESM accountable to Parliament for its actions

Meeting in plenary in Strasbourg on Tuesday 12 June, MEPs reiterated their determination to ensure that the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), or whichever institution replaces it, is in future accountable to the European Parliament for its actions, thereby echoing the proposals of the European Commission of 6 December of last year on the deepening of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) (see EUROPE 11920).
