Commission proposal for EU to sign international agreement to prevent unregulated fishing in Arctic Ocean

On Tuesday 12 June, the European Commission adopted a proposal on the signing, on behalf of the European Union, of the agreement to prevent unregulated high seas fisheries in the central Arctic Ocean (see EUROPE 11917).

At the end of November 2017, the Commission conducted negotiations with delegations from Canada, China, Denmark (regarding the Faroe Islands and Greenland), Iceland, Japan, the Korean Republic, Norway, Russia and the United States with a view to concluding a binding agreement...
